Obesity and Environmental Contaminants – 2nd International Workshop

In 2010, the “Workshop on Obesity and Environmental Contaminants,” was arranged, dealing primarily with the issue of whether or not environmental contaminants, so-called obesogens, contribute to the development of overweight and obesity. The obesogens are “hormone disrupting chemicals,” which change the effects of hormones controlling central biological processes, for example growth, reproduction, behavior, sexual maturation, and metabolism. As the field has expanded greatly since 2010, there is now another workshop, which will take place in Uppsala, Sweden 8-9 October 2015.

The target groups of the workshop are scientists and decision makers in the public sector.
